Unicode Cheat Sheet: Copy & Paste Character Sets
Every character set people actually search for, in one place — superscript (ˣ²⁰¹³), subscript (ₓ₂₀₁₃), small caps (ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ), tiny numbers (⁰¹²³⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹), and more. Select any character to copy it, or use the linked generators to convert whole strings at once.
Superscript characters (raised)
Unicode defines raised forms for every digit, common math operators, most lowercase letters, and many capitals. Letters with no standardized raised form (such as q) are simply not listed — no font can invent them.
| Set | Characters | Common uses |
|---|---|---|
| Digits | ⁰ ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ ⁹ | Exponents (x²), years (²⁰²⁶), footnotes |
| Operators | ⁺ ⁻ ⁼ ⁽ ⁾ | Short math expressions in chats |
| Lowercase letters | ᵃ ᵇ ᶜ ᵈ ᵉ ᶠ ᵍ ʰ ⁱ ʲ ᵏ ˡ ᵐ ⁿ ᵒ ᵖ ʳ ˢ ᵗ ᵘ ᵛ ʷ ˣ ʸ ᶻ | Stylized words like ˢᵘᵖᵉʳˢᶜʳⁱᵖᵗ |
| Uppercase letters | ᴬ ᴮ ᴰ ᴱ ᴳ ᴴ ᴵ ᴶ ᴷ ᴸ ᴹ ᴺ ᴼ ᴾ ᴿ ᵀ ᵁ ⱽ ᵂ | Initials and labels |
| Ordinal letters | ˢ ᵗ ⁿ ʳ ᵈ ᵗ ʰ | 1ˢᵗ, 2ⁿᵈ, 3ʳᵈ, 4ᵗʰ in bios |
Convert a whole sentence instead of copying character by character with the superscript generator.
Subscript characters (lowered)
Subscript coverage is narrower than superscript — all digits and operators are covered, and many (not all) lowercase letters. Missing letters stay unchanged rather than being replaced with lookalikes.
| Set | Characters | Common uses |
|---|---|---|
| Digits | ₀ ₁ ₂ ₃ ₄ ₅ ₆ ₇ ₈ ₉ | Chemical formulas (H₂O), footnote markers |
| Operators | ₊ ₋ ₌ ₍ ₎ | Short math expressions |
| Lowercase letters | ₐ ₑ ₕ ᵢ ⱼ ₖ ₗ ₘ ₙ ₒ ₚ ᵣ ₛ ₜ ᵤ ᵥ ₓ | Variable indices (xᵢ), stylized words |
The subscript generator converts whole strings and tells you which characters are unavailable.
Small caps
Small capitals are a different Unicode block from superscript — same size as lowercase, capital shape. Coverage is nearly complete for the alphabet.
| Set | Characters | Common uses |
|---|---|---|
| Full alphabet | ᴀ ʙ ᴄ ᴅ ᴇ ꜰ ɢ ʜ ɪ ᴊ ᴋ ʟ ᴍ ɴ ᴏ ᴘ ǫ ʀ ꜱ ᴛ ᴜ ᴠ ᴡ x ʏ ᴢ | Headings, bios, usernames — the classic "fancy text" look |

Tiny numbers & operators
Digits and operators have complete coverage in both raised and lowered forms — the most reliable part of Unicode for this use case.
| Set | Characters | Common uses |
|---|---|---|
| Superscript digits | ⁰ ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ ⁹ | ²⁰²⁶, x²⁰, footnote markers |
| Subscript digits | ₀ ₁ ₂ ₃ ₄ ₅ ₆ ₇ ₈ ₉ | H₂O, x₀, sequence markers |
Digits only? The tiny number generator converts 0–9 and + − = ( ) in one click, in both styles. And if you only need the squared symbol, copy ² in one click from the superscript 2 page.
Other text styles
Beyond the raised/lowered families, these styles cover most of what people search for when they say "fancy text":
Bold text
Mathematical bold letters for emphasis in bios and posts.
𝒻𝒶𝓃𝒸𝓎Fancy text
Script, cursive, and decorated Unicode styles.
ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔBubble text
Circled and inverted characters.
s̶t̶r̶i̶k̶eStrikethrough
Crossed-out text using combining characters.
ᵗⁱⁿʸTiny text
Small raised and lowered letters side by side.
wideWide text
Fullwidth characters for spacing effects.
𝔤𝔞𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔤Gaming fonts
Name styles for games and usernames.
DiscordDiscord fonts
What works in Discord and what doesn't.
How to use these characters
- Single characters: select any character in the tables above and copy it (Ctrl/Cmd+C), then paste wherever plain text is accepted.
- Whole strings: paste your text into the matching generator — conversion is instant and the copy button grabs the result.
- Real documents: for schoolwork, papers, and reports, use real formatting instead — Word/Docs/Excel shortcuts or HTML
/tags. The platform-by-platform guide covers every method.
One honest caveat: screen readers and search engines read these characters as individual symbols, not as letters. Keep them for display text — bios, nicknames, headings — not for anything that needs to be readable or searchable.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Unicode cheat sheet?
A quick-reference list of characters from the Unicode standard that look like styled text — raised, lowered, small-capital, or decorated forms. This page collects the sets people search for most, with copy-ready characters and the tools that convert whole strings.
Why do some letters show as boxes (□)?
Your font lacks a glyph for that code point. Unicode defines raised or lowered forms for most — but not all — letters, and coverage varies by font. Characters without a standard form (like q in superscript) simply do not exist, so no cheat sheet can list them.
Can I use these characters on Instagram, Discord, or TikTok?
Yes — they are plain Unicode text, so they work in most bio, caption, and message fields on those platforms. They are not fonts and need no installation. Screen-reader users will hear them as individual symbols, so keep them for display text.
What is the difference between superscript and small caps?
Superscript characters are raised above the baseline and smaller (ˣ²); small caps are capital-shaped but lowercase-sized (ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ). They come from different Unicode blocks and serve different looks — superscript reads as "math or footnote", small caps reads as "elegant heading".
